Copa America 2011 update

MEXICO CITY, July 14, 2011 (AFP) - The head coach of Mexico's U-22, Luis Fernando Tena, regretted having left a bad impression in the Copa America 2011 in Argentina, but refused to have failed, in remarks made on Thursday, on his return to Mexico.

Although the Tricolor has not scored a single point, and scored just one goal in 270 minutes played, Tena denied that his team has failed to consider the size of the rivals faced: Uruguay, Peru and Chile.

"Playing a competition with a U-22 against teams as strong as Chile and losing by 2-1 is not a failure. I do think that the team had to play better, that makes me upset. But we must not make a big scandal", asked Tena.
